Fresh 48 sessions — what they are, why they matter

By Jessica Durden

Fresh 48 is the session people don't know they want until they see someone else's. It's a short, quiet, documentary-style visit at the hospital the day after your baby is born — ideally between hours 24 and 48.

I arrive gently, stay 45 minutes to an hour, and document the small things: the tiny footprints stamped in their chart, the hospital bracelet, the first time a sibling meets the baby, you holding them for a skin-to-skin nap.

Fresh 48 is quiet by design.

How it works logistically

You call or text me when your baby is born. I clear the next 48 hours for you. We pick a 1-hour window that doesn't conflict with feeds, rounds, or naps. I come in, I work quietly, and I leave you to rest.

You'll have your Fresh 48 gallery about a week later — it's always the fastest turnaround I offer, because I know how much you'll want to look at these right away.
